Roots Arts and Cultural Center, in the heart of downtown Providence, provides a flexible and welcoming rental space for a variety of events.  Located downtown, the facility is an ideal place for business meetings, receptions, fundraisers, private parties, and custom special events.  Our reasonable rental fees are based on the unique requirements for each customer.

• Resource list of vendors including DJs, entertainers, printers and designers,
• Information on parking service options,
• Knowledgeable and resourceful staff.

As a rental facility, the Roots Arts and Cultural Center offers layout options that cater to the the size and type of your event. The Roots welcomes groups for available daytime and evening rental options.

The front room of the Center, the solarium, is ideal for meetings and gatherings for groups of under forty people.  Set up options include cafe style tables and open seating for presentations and discussions. Additionally this area has open floor space for private, social events.

The main room at the Roots is a generous area for professional and social functions. With a capacity of 225 people, the space is also rented by presenters and artists for audience events.  With a stage area and sound system, we help produce large scale presentations, speakers, dance or performance events. For receptions and reunions the space can be flexibly configured for seating, dancing and catering.

An mezzanine that wraps around the stage area can be rented ahead of time as a private VIP area during scheduled programming at the Roots Arts and Cultural Center.  With intimate seating this is a distinct setting for private social functions or small family gatherings before scheduled events. Catering or simply cocktail service can be arranged.

Non Profits
Roots is pleased to offer our space for rentals by other non-profit organizations. The flexibility of amenities and services facilitate classes, fundraisers, workshops, panels, retreats and organizational meetings.
